Domain Forwarding

Domain forwarding enables you to use your domain name to point to your current personal or business Website, without incurring the costs normally associated with Web hosting.

Domain Forwarding Setup

If you have a free personal Web page with your current Internet Service Provider or another form of FREE Web host provider (www.321website.com or www.talkcity.com for example) your Web address probably looks something like this:

http://www.yourwebprovider.com/host/~userid125 (Very hard to remember)

With Domain Direct's Domain Forwarding service all someone has to do is type in your domain name (that you registered with Domain Direct) in the address window of their browser, it will then forward them directly to you current Website in a blink of an eye.

NOTE: If you change ISP's or Web host provider you can simply change your web redirection to point to your new Website address at your new ISP, with no confusion to your clients because your domain name stays the same. More instructions will follow once you have registered your name with Domain Direct.

To see how it works, type one of these domain names into your browsers address window or click on the link:

www.mydomainforward.com
www.domainforwarding.com

Note: You have to have your domain name registered or transferred to Domain Direct and your account set up to use this service.

As soon as you specify the site you want your domain name to point to and press "update" through the Domain Control Panel your domain name will then forward anyone who types it into their browser, to your site.

You can access your account through our revolutionary Domain Control Panel and set your domain name to point to any Website you want it to. You can change your domain forwarding as often as you wish. Updates will become active immediately.

Subdomain Forwarding

When you register your domain name with Domain Direct's Personal Identity account, not only do you get standard Domain Forwarding (www.yourdomain.com points to http://www.freewebprovider.com/siteid/1234) but you also receive "Subdomain Forwarding": resume.yourdomain.com points to any Website (like your resume at http://www.resumehosting.com/~yourname/resume.html).

Subdomain Forwarding Setup

Subdomains are just like having extra Domain Forwarding addresses. With Subdomain Forwarding, you can set up anything.yourdomain.com to go to any Website you wish. For example, you may wish to set up a help center for your customers and have help.yourdomain.com forward there. Perhaps you'd like guestbook.yourdomain.com to forward to your guestbook page. Now it's possible.

URLKeeper

When you turn URLKeeper ON your domain name will remain in the browser address window no matter what link a person clicks on within your Website. No longer will your long Web site address (www.somehostprovider.com/~coolsite/123) appear in the browser address window. Your Website will look professional without incurring the cost of regular web site virtual hosting.

URLKeeper Setup

Through the domain control panel you have the option to turn "URLKeeper" ON and OFF. Your domain name will not appear in the browser address window when it is off.

To see how URLKeeper works type this example into you browser's address window or click on this link:

www.urlkeeper.com

NOTE: If you turn it ON your domain name will appear throughout your web site no matter what link you click on. If you wish to link to a site that is external to yours and you'd like the address bar to change accordingly, make sure to use TARGET="_top" when your specifying your link.

Under Construction Page

If you don't have a Website to forward your domain name to Domain Direct provides you with a free Under Construction page until you activate your Domain Forwarding.
