In order for Domain Direct to complete your domain name transfer request, we require transfer approval from you (the domain's official Administrative Contact).
Below are the steps to follow in order for your domain name to be successfully transfered to Domain Direct.
Transfer Lock must be turned off for your domain. It is usually enabled by default. Please go to your current registrar's website and log into your account to turn off Transfer Lock. Additionally, if you are using a WHOIS Privacy service that hides your name from the WHOIS database, it must be disabled. Your Administrative Contact information must be valid, or you will be unable to transfer your domain.
Complete the Transfer a Domain signup form on our site. When you have completed the form, come back to this page and complete steps three and four.
Check your email. You will receive an email from transfers@opensrs.org explaining what you need to do in order to approve the transfer. This email should arrive within a few minutes of completing the forms, but can take longer. If the email has not arrived after 24 hours (72 hours on weekends and Canadian holidays), please contact support.
Follow the directions in the email. When you are entering the information on the Web page you are directed to, you will need to include your daytime telephone number. This is needed so that OpenSRS can contact you if there are any difficulties with your transfer.
Important: Some registrars require that you perform additional steps to confirm your transfer away from them. If you receive any email from your current registrar regarding your transfer, please ensure that you carefully read the message and follow their directions.
Once we have confirmation that the domain transfer is complete, we will then notify you via email. You will then be able to set up your Domain Direct services!
Thank you for choosing Domain Direct!
