Using free email--such as Hotmail or Yahoo! Mail--is a bad idea. Here's why:

1. Free email users share their domain name (e.g., @hotmail.com, @msn.com, @yahoo.com) with millions of other users. This makes it impossible to create a truly unique email identity for yourself or your business.
2. Online merchants might refuse your order. Most Internet fraud is associated with free email accounts. Many online merchants refuse orders that come from free email accounts.
3. It's next to impossible to get a "good" email address. With the popularity of these services, you will often be stuck with an address like janedoe539687@freeemailprovider.com or bobsbicycles68@freeemailservice.com.
4. Many free email providers don't offer POP access to your email, or charge extra for it. All of Domain Direct's email addresses include POP access, as well as Webmail.

6. There's no such thing as a free lunch. With free email providers, you'll often have to view advertisements on your Webmail screen, and the email you send may have advertising inserted in it!
